We aim to listen to the needs of your school community, and offer you CPD training, advice and/or coaching to best suit your specific requirements.
We deliver CPD training sessions for teachers, Senior Leaders and other school staff about student and/or staff mental health and wellbeing.
Training sessions are either led by Ava Shabnum Hasan (former SENDCo and Senior Leader, and now a Psychotherapist) or Darryl Christie (Consultant Psychotherapist in adolescent and adult mental health).
We were extremely pleased with the mental health training delivered to us as a staff team today. Ava was so knowledgeable and attentive, taking the time to understand our needs and tailoring the session to our school context and the different roles across our setting. The focus on SEN and specific profiles of need was invaluable.
We found the training both informative and positive, with really practical tips for us and the students. It felt useful, well delivered, and relevant to our day to day practice, offering strategies we can put in place straight away. The session prompted personal insight as well as professional reflection for many of us.
Ava’s delivery was pitched perfectly, and we were all fully engaged throughout. Overall, it was an excellent and impactful session for both staff and student wellbeing; we would highly recommend!

I wholeheartedly recommend Ava and her team at Mentally Well Schools. In our preparation for the return of the rest of our pupils we had an excellent workshop for our team, supporting them in recognising and addressing signs of poor mental health in our children and in ourselves… The workshop was fantastic. I’ve had so many staff contact me to thank me for training… Definitely fewer staff burn outs in the future I think!”
– Cori Bateman (CEO/Executive Headteacher/NLE/NPQEL, Pioneer Learning Trust, England)
The training we received was very well delivered by presenters who are credible and experienced. The resources provided were both high quality and more importantly, useful! I would urge anyone, in any setting to explore the Mentally Well Schools offer for training, resources and support.”
– Jen Lloyd (Deputy Headteacher, Luton, England)
